The Johnstown ATV Club is a private club. We have approximately 200 kms of trails that are open for ATV use eleven months of the year. We close our entire trail system down in the spring for about one month to prevent excessive damage to the trails during the spring melt. This closure period will be posted on the web site.
We have a large clubhouse that is equipped with a working kitchen and flush toilets for men and women. The clubhouse is open to all members 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. There is a keyless entry on the kitchen door of the clubhouse and the lock code is shared with all club members.
In addition to the membership dollars that we receive, we generate additional funds to run our club by having rallies. We try to have an event each month. These funds are used for operational expenditures such as insurance and maintenance. For the calendar year 2004, we invested a total of $8,760.25 on trail maintenance, in 2005 we invested $13,375.06, and another $2,942.70 in 2006 -- that's a total of $25,078.01 in the past three years. These costs vary by year, but you can be assured that we will always have trail maintenance expenses.

Our incorporation papers define five officers who are elected by the membership. Additional directors are appointed by the management team. Directors and officers all have equal share in management decisions, except that the president's vote is not counted in the event of a tie.
Director's meetings are sometimes called with short notice, but planned meetings are announced on the forum and on the web site. Director's meetings are generally open to the membership.
Our club email address has been inundated with SPAM. The old mail@ address is now cancelled. We prefer that you call one of the directors by phone rather than email, but email is still acceptable.
To contact the club directors via email, send your message to one of the following addresses.

The phone number at our clubhouse is 613-925-1598. Normally, you will only be able to reach someone during a rally or some other club activity.
We have an answering machine that will host a message about our trail status when the trails are closed. This machine will not be used to retrieve messages - only to give a message if someone calls.
If you do not have the combination for the lock on the clubhouse door, please contact us and we will be happy to provide the combination code to you. All members are permitted to have 24/7 access to the clubhouse.
